Mallory Comp 60FI- Comp 110-Comp 140 Series Electric Fuel Pump Rebuild

If Any of you guys are from the 1980’s & 1990’s Pro Street Drag Race era like me then you will recall Mallory Performance ignitions & electric fuel pumps. Likely the very best CDI ignition systems & electric fuel pumps ever made back then.

If you have ever been stranded on the highway late at night because the in tank electric fuel pump quit then you know how bad that sucks. If it happens in a Midwest winter blizzard then you may not make it -perish.

Near impossible or is impossible to change that failed fuel pump without a car lift.

The Fuel tank must be dropped & is always full of gasoline.

You can still use an external electric fuel pump on most late model EFI cars built 1982 to present. Many times have to be resourceful.

The Mallory Comp 140 GPH fuel pump will support 550 HP at WOT in High Gear Pulling flat out. My experience is you will see just a 1/2 psi drop using the Comp 140 with a 1/2″ inch I.D. Feed Line & outlet right up to the carburetor fuel inlet.  Up to 14 psi fuel pressure regulated.  With most popular carburetors set the fuel pressure 6 -1/2 to 7-1/2 psi.

Drag Race only Flat out at the strip with low diff gears 4.30 -4.88 -5.38  set the fuel pressure to 8 to 9-1/2 psi.

If your using a Pontiac V8 Tripower set the fuel pressure to 4-1/2 – 5psi.

Tune your engine & Jet your carburetors appropriately.

The pictured Mallory fuel pump rebuild kit is for the Mallory Comp 60FI fuel injection pump for my 1994 K1500 350 TBI 4×4 Suburban.
