    In answer to your question..I have an 18″ 7-blade Flex-a-lite fan (#1818) on the Fastback’s stroker. Originally, I used the stock 66 4-blade V8 fan mounted on a 1″ spacer, and an aluminum radiator. I switched to the 18″ Flex-a-lite fan using the same spacer and radiator; but added a shroud. I find this particular fan to work very well and compliments my engine with its polished blades and blue hub. It been running now for five years and often sees rpms over 6K. The blades are sharp; but it hasn’t been a problem (other than during installation). The engine never runs over 160 deg (thermostat rating) no matter the conditions.

The 7-blade Flex-a-lite Flex Fans are great for pullling air through thick 3- or 4-core readiators and are quieter than a rigid-blade fan. They move more air at idle and the blades flatten out at higher engine RPM to reduce engine drag for better performance and improved fuel economy
